Sofia held the first transnational course for “SEAM” adult trainers
23.07.2015
From the 16th to the 22nd of July, SEAM gathered together in Sofia (Bulgaria) representatives and trainers from its seven partner organisations to put into practice, test and decide on the implementation of the materials and activities designed by the partnership in previous stages of the project.
"SEAM: Social Education of Adults through Mobility" is a two-year strategic partnership at international level coordinated by Asociación Gantalcalá (Spain) with the support of Innovative Community Centres Association (Bulgaria), Diecezni charita Brno (Czech Republic), Passaggi onlus (Italy), Latvian Adult Education Association (Latvia), Municipio de Amarante (Portugal) and Inštitut Antona Trstenjaka za gerontologijo in medgeneracijsko sožitje (Slovenia), and funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commision under its Key Action 2.
From September onwards, SEAM will start training adults over 50 years old in communication in second languages and intercultural interaction through means of international mobility and promoting their social inclusion by the acquisition of new cultural and/or language skills through formal and non-formal methodologies. The learning activity in Bulgaria has been a great opportunity for both representatives and trainers to test the materials designed by the partnership, find possible weaknesses, ways of implementing their resources and improve them before the different organisations start running the SEAM training courses for over-50-year-old adults in their national countries in autumn this year.
The main objective of the meeting was that trainers and representatives could meet and interact with one another as well as learn more about the different ways of attracting participants, teaching and learning methodologies, formal and non-formal education activities and materials they will have to use to train adults. Besides it was essential to prepare future stages of the project and, especially useful to get to know the facilities, programmes, activities and good practices carried out by the hosting partner organisation (Innovative Community Centres Association (www.association.bg)), related to sustainable development of the community and adult education through active citizenship, volunteering and key competences.
